THE STORY: Kandie captured her fourth overall crown, continuing a trend of winning every three years: 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009. Her song Pick Up The Pieces focused on the fact all three women in Parliament lost their seats in the 2009 elections and that they must persevere to assure women are once again well-represented in politics. Who Do We Blame? addressed the issue of young people who have gone astray and the reasons why they have. Only two calypsonians in Montserrat history have won more crowns than Kandie: Hero (10) and Reality (5).
