VICKIE 'STORM' LOCKER
Vickie Locker made her calypso debut during the 2006 Montserrat Festival under the name "Vee Breeze". She finished fourth in the Female Calypso Monarch show, singing On Your Own and Festival Fever. She also made it to the calypso monarch finals, where she placed ninth. Obviously disappointed, she regrouped for 2007, even changing her name to "Storm". She sought the help of veteran calypsonian "De Bear", whose tutelege helped her produce two top-notch songs for 2007 --Teach Them and De Storm. She dethroned Kandie to win the Female Calypso Monarch contest, then finished sixth in the main calypso competition -- a position most of the audience objected to. However, she won the inaugural William "Ruler" Murrain Crowd Favorite Award, which is decided solely by crowd applause and does not involve judges. In 2008, she defended her female calypso title with the songs We Have Not Changed and On The Road To Better Health. When she's not singing calypso, Vickie is a mother and entrepreneur.
